Well, I finished my PI swap a few months ago, everything went flawless, no codes, its running strong, etc etc. Well when I was putting everything back together, the old hold down bracket that goes between the Alternator and intake didnt fit. However, the alternator was still held down with two pretty big bolts in front that I thought would hold....
Went driving today, and all the sudden I heard this horrible sound from under the hood (right after I turned a corner) I lost all power steering, etc etc. Well, I pop the hood, my belt jumped off the alternator pulley and got shredded bigtime
On my to-do list was get a new alternator hold down bracket that would fit, however, I never got around to it. Big mistake, a $50 mistake for a new belt. Anyway, I ordered the bracket finally, and it will be on this week, but I am just kinda flipped out that it worked fine for almost 2000 miles, then decides to suddenly not work.
