so i have a 70 coupe witha a 302 and a 2bl all stock just got the car running the other day after it sat from pervious owner for 13yrs car idles good but if i give it hard throttle the cars rather stalls or hesitates before it goes i thought it was a timing issue but i tried increasing timing with no help now i think poorly gapped plugs? any ideas?

What if anything have you done to the fuel system between it sitting and you starting it? Replace tank, lines, filters, etc???????? What was done to the fuel system if anything prior to it being stored? These answers will shed alot of light on the issue.

lines were flushed new tank new sending unit new pump and new carb

Still got points ? If you do, thats where to look next. That and make sure the carb's accellerator pump linkage is free of slack. What carb is on there? Set the base timing at 12* BTDC.
