A buddy installed underdrive pullies yesterday on his 97 gt, and today the water pump pulley came loose causing the belt to come off. He smelled antifreeze and pulled over and now thier is a hole in the radiator about as big as the letters in this sentance are tall. He had it towed to a hobby shop on base (military). Can this be welded or does he have to buy a new one?

Doubt it's repairable.. it'd be too difficult and tedious probably to do with a welder. Good chance to upgrade to a 3 core aluminum.

Fluidyne can usually be gotten for around $350 depending on where you look.

If the hole isn't very big... you can always dump a raw egg in it... it'll hold for a little while Other temp fixes include pepper corns, Carnation milk, or those stop-leak things from the auto-store.

and none of those i would put in my motor. that is a very good way too clog cooling passages and create hot spots. just get a radiator.

No way do you want to risk damaging the engine!!! Worst case if cost is aproblem, get a used radiator from a junk yard!

if you end up calling a ford dealer for the part ask for a collision part. they are the same as the service part but much cheaper.. the difference was 150 bucks when i got a radiator for my taurus. i am not sure if they offer the collision parts for mustang but it's worth a shot.
