Holley SysteMAX II Engine Systems for 5.0L Ford

Hey I saw this kit on Summitracing.com, says I can get 350 ponies out of the kit alone(well atleast the magazine did), problem is what else do I need to do to my car for it to handle this new found power? It's a daily driver so I really can't have it running like ass.

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=egnsearch.asp&N=304061&autoview=sku

I'm guessing stronger clutch? New internals? New brakes?

You'll need all the supporting hardware listed and specified by Holley.. 24 # injectors atleast, MAF, throttle body, gears atleast 3.73s.... nice headers, good exhaust... A better clutch when that one goes out. Many things on top of that engine kit to make it run and drive like a stocker. Once everything is installed, a dyno tune will keep it livable for daily driving and fast as shiot.

kit is pretty much outdated and the intake is a better blower intake than it is n/a summit also sells a trickflow kit which I like better its part# TFS-K514-350-370

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=TFS-K514-350-370&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp&x=46&y=13

also these hp ratings are engine ratings not rear wheel hp both holley and trickflow

and if you believe you'll get 350RWHP from that combo, I've got a bridge for sale. Those numbers are engine dynos, not chassis dynos so you'll ber lucky to get 300RWHP from the combo.

I never understood...how good that kit is...the intake is rather big for a 302...the cam is rather small...and the heads...well needless to say are not one of the most popular ones either...but yet people are getting some nice times...Even the trickflow package does well...but than again...its the driver and its the traction...

Rick 91GT ran the holley package but with an AFM n-61 camshaft. He made 340rwhp and went in the 11's @ 115ish mph. That was with, I beleive, the older holley heads with the 1.90 valves. The newer ones are better.

A good clutch is always a plus to handle the newfound power as are fresh brake pads. No need to do an all out brake upgrade though and no need to touch the internals. I've seen stock internals rev past 7000 quite a few times (not that you'll be doing that).

I think he told me when I spoke with him on the phone that it was the first engine he ever built. It was a 302 with an aftermarket piston i believe. Thats about 400 at the crank, but more importantly was what it REALLY did. 340hp and 11 second et's.
