would a systemax II kit be overkill for a stock motor in addition to maf, tb and gears? does trickflow make a h/c/i kit or are there better kits out there? will this set up get me in the 12's. new to the mustang scene and learning lots. thanks for all the replys.

The Holley and the Trickflow kits are both nice kits... and yep... There is a TFS kit. You shoul dbe able to find it on Summit Racing.

Both kit's should be good for 12's, or even the old edelbrock kits will get you there.

Pick your favorite manufacturer & go for it.

BTW -- I believe they are all designed with a "stock" setup in mind.

Don't know but I have a suggestion. Put the word out on this forum for someone to install it for you. I think you may find somebody close to you who can do it. We're all friends here At like 60-70 dollars per hour, a shop could get very pricey.

Yes - wait for heads to use an intake that large.

I think he's referring to the whole kit -- heads/cam/intake.

I always thought that the systemax was designed for force induction. I thought the edlebrock and trickflow intakes were better suited for N/A

You can get the intake without the heads - if he buys the kit, then yes the intake will work. I guess Holley has fixed the valve guide problem they used to have a while back.

I just researched this subject and bought the Trick Flow kit...The Holley is more expensive and comes with less items, than the Trick Flow. The Holley kit is $2209 and the Trick Flow is $2095...Both available from Summit Racing. Trick flow comes with heads, cam, intake, pushrods, roller rockers, timing chain,Arp bolts, valve covers, and gaskets.... While the Holley comes with heads, cam, intake, pushrods, bolts, and gaskets.. The cost of the Holley is higher because of the Systemax intake, but I think the Trick Flow has the best bang for the buck... They produce equal HP # and you get more for your money with the Trick Flow...Plus, the Holley heads performance is questionable, where as the Trick Flows are proven for 302- stroked windsor...If the street intake is not enough for another $50 you can get the Trick Flow Track heat intake.... Hope this helps...

I went crazy and bought systemax heads, RPMII manifold and comp cam. I think the cam is too big. I also need a chip.
