Holy smoke Batman
I got off work the other day drove home (5 Miles) and my car felt like it was being very sluggish. I when I stoped I smelled something burning so I opened the hood
and the A/C compressor was smoking
.
I have never worked on A/C so I hope my fellow stang netters :SNSign: can give me some clues
If I had a leak in my A/C line would that have caused my compressor to seize and the lil clutch burn up
I was getting some oily mist on the inside of my windshield and now my compressor is tits up
.
I got a new compressor $215, drier/accum $59. and Orifice tube repair kit $19 plus tax
How do I find the leak?
I don't want to burn up the new parts.
When I went to pick the parts up at Auto Zone the guy ask what car it was going on and I said a Black 95 Mustang GT.
Turns out there were 3 guys who were working there race and they had some BAD ASS Mustangs a 83, 89 and 91 one of them being a twin turbo and lots of parts for sale
Now I got new friends who race and they hooked me up with a OEM Mach 1 chin spoiler
