Home porting gt-40 heads. What size gaskets to match and any tips?

I'm doing a budget build up and i want to do some mild porting on some iron gt-40 heads. What size gaskets should i try to match and any tips for when i start?

There is NO NEED to open the head intake runner as it just necks down at the pushrod pinch anyway. Best thing to do is to match the lower intake runners to the STOCK head runners.

I was looiking at the intake runners on the hedas and they look pretty open. What about the exhaust runners on the heads? They look pretty small and my headers are pretty big?

best thing you could do is smooth the chambers and do a mild port match.

I ported one of the exhaust ports today and it looks really good and i'm happy with the resualts. I'm wanting to port the exhaust becuase the headers are about 1/8" bigger all around than the ports. Other than take it slow and dont take off to much at a time is there anything else i should do?

Also is there anything i need to watch out for when i'm doing the heads exhaust ports?
