Gonna do a 351 push rod in a v6 stang with the FAST engine management system. Seems to be the lowest clearance, but I hear the issue is with the distributer. Gonna try using the Mach 1 hood. Anyone have any advice?

Starting with a V6 is a huge mistake. Mach 1 hood has a hole for the shaker system...? Cobra R gives more clearance. A typical cowl hood would give most clearance.

ya, I don't think a Mach 1 hood will help much if any, and you would probably have to mount the shaker solidly to the hood rather than the engine...I'd suggest a cowl hood too...

Starting with a v6 is bad? Because? I'm also using a 94/95 as a donor, but I'm using the v6 4r70w. A v8 doesn't give much help other then a more solid rear end. what's the advantage and disadvantage between gt and regular v6? Also.....I already know that a cobra r and cowl hood would work, but I personally think they are horrible looking IMO.

What intake are you going with? If you're going with an elbow style you may have to run a cowl. Also I would start with a v6 as well. Cheap, 4r, and non hydroboost(I think). 6 bolts and the rear is out, and not many more to swap the brakes.

So what Kmember are you going to use ? The stock one from the donor or an aftermarket ? I think MM makes a Windsor motor swap K that lowers the motor for extra clearance.

I think starting with a v6 car to swap into is actually smart. It makes your original purchase price CHEAP and the chassis wont be beat up from being run hard. If you are upgrading the brakes anyway its no big deal and maybe you want to put a 9" or an IRS in anyways so who cares ?

There were early SN95s that hda 351w motors in them and I don't know if they had a special hood. Check out the Saleen S351 and see what hood it used. Obviously its not the same body style but if it used a stock hood there is no reason the standard hood shouldn't fit in the later SN95.

Thanks for advice. The intake faces straight up, so that's why I wanted to use the Mach hood. The elbow intake will def need a cowl hood. With the 94/95 donor car I was just gonna switch everything over w/ aftermarket kmember of course.
