I have a 351w I'm going to swap in real soon, and I have the solid motor mounts that came off the 289 that was in there previously(PO put them in) Can I use these motor mounts, or do I have to get different ones.

the 351w has a vic jr intake with a barry grant 750dp carb. Am I goign to have hood clearance with the stock hood?

i put a 351w in my 67, I have the wiend stealth intake. It did not fit. But I was having motor mount issues.

still have not resolved the mount problems. Need to get back to work on it.

Hood clearance is going to be tight, with a drop-base airleaner it might make it, but my guess is no. I have a perf-rpm and a holley 750vacsec on a 1-inch phenolic spacer. Put the K&N round cleaner on it and it will barely clear the Shelby hood scoop, even with a ground down nut on the cleaner lid. The Vic jr is taller than my RPM (I think).

The big windsor uses the same mounts as the small windsors.

oh yea its a 67

It has the turn signal hood right now

but I also have this fiberglass hood sitting in my basement that I have been saving

would it clear that you think?

I am running the same motor/intake setup on my '68. I'm using the TCP mounts which give it a little more drop. Everything is tucked under my Eleanor (gasp!) fiberglass hood which is open under the scoop, and it is still tight. I do have a standard round chrome air cleaner, so a drop base may would be the missing piece to get you by.

Good luck!

I have a 68 mustang with a custom 408 stroker and i am using the same motor mounts that came with the 302 it originally had. I also have a 3 inch cowl induction hood so clearance is not an issue for me.

the stealth and performer rpm intakes are only an inch taller than the stock 351w intake, and usually with a drop over style aircleaner it will fit under a stock hood, though clearance is tight. however the victor jr intake is almost 3" taller than the stock 351w intake, and even with a drop over aircleaner, it doesnt fit under a stock hood. usually a 3" tall hood scoop is needed to clear.

I have a 351, stock mounts. Stealth intake, HiPo Aircleaner and it all fits under a stock hood. I bought a Shelby style hood because I was using a taller air cleaner but now I am looking for a turn signal hood.

Functional Shelby style hood? Louvers or no Louvers? I have a turn signal hood and I am looking for a shelby style hood for my 67. My hood is the original hood so it is all metal.
