one problem im scared of is hood clearance.. will my hood fit????????? its the 96 cobra hood?????? i think its gonna be real close, i dont wanna swap hoods just got this baby painted
I don't know if the 96' Cobra hood has more clearance than our stock hoods, but with a 3/8" spacer and an Edelbrock Performer I had to get a new hood. I probably could have just cut the inner liner of the hood, but that would have looked like crap and my whole project this winter was making my engine/engine compartment show worthy.
you can do like 95stroker suggested. that is what I did and with a little paint it came out pretty good. don't know if the cobra hood has a inner liner that can be cut or not.
if i remember right people have said with a 3/8 you'll be fine just gotta ditch the fabric liner. With an 1" you have a problem even with certain after market ones. My first hood hit, the one i have now does not and they are both cobra r w svo scoop hoods. It hit in the back and I had to cut it to fit hood wouldn't close. It was a cheap POS hood though new one is MUCH better.
Mine fit, needed to sand down some areas around my strut bar, but it cleared the intake ok with a spacer. Justa painted the parts i sanded to clear...looks factory.
my friend said that. i was like hell no!!!!!!! thats ricer!!!!!!! plus people are gonna know im modded. im gonna a plate the says, "just exhaust" whats the short way to right that?
