Ok guys I just realized that my hood latch is different from other stangs that I know of.

The 94-98 stangs I've seen have the yellow latch that you push to the side right up there by the plastic radiator cover.

But my 94 GT has a little black lever that has to be pulled up, it's right underneath the horse in the grille and behind the bumper a little.

Anyone know what the deal with this is? I'm wondering if it was like a mid year change or something. I wanna put in the billet grille with horse but having the lever there prevents that. Can I convert it over to the other style?

Also my stang has never been wrecked, so I don't think this isn't accident repair work.

LOL what?? How do you open the hood? My brother has one of those style grills on his 94 lightning and he has this technique where he has to grab the lever like 3 diff times to get the damn thing open. I would rather just pay the $30 for the other latch and be done with it. That's just me.

If you go and look at your car and move the lever, look what the lever moves.. then just push that latch itself to the right. The latch the conects to the hood. I can do it just as easy as grabbing the lever.

DONT DO THAT!!!!! DONT open the hood without using that black lever because after a few times it ****s up the latch. I had this problem when I put on my new grille and my latch broke, so when my buddy closed the hood, the latch never caught and my hood flew off. BAD IDEA

Pushing the thing im talking about does the same as the lever. It has a sprign that just gets pushed down, maybe yours was broke to begin with. Ive used mine like this for over a year, my hood is still on my car.
