So I always check my oil when filling up with gas. It's a habit. Since I had a pretty bad oil leak until I fixed them all recently. Well, today I fill up and attempt to pop the hood... Nope!

I pull with everything I have quite a few times with no luck. When I get home I try numerous things with to get it to unmatched with no luck. I'm very close to cutting a hole near the latch to pop it manually. I was planning to do a decent bit of work to the car this weekend... of course.

Any ideas besides my destructive one?

Try unhooking the cable from the release lever and pulling the cable with a pair of chan locks? The cable might of stretched, or the hood catch is frozen

You should be able to reach the latch from underneath if the channel locks don't work you should be able to wiggle the plastic off its keeper and pull the cable also try having someone push down on the hood while pulling the cable

This happened to me on my lx, I laid on my back and was able to reach up and move the latch by hand, then I oiled the crap out of everything on the latch

Get a second person to push down on top of the hood where the latch is while you pull on the hood release. That may help too.

I got under the car this morning and it wouldn't budge at all! So I removed the handle from the column and pulled it as if I was trying to rip it out of the car. Finally... the hood popped.

I've been lubing and pulling it all morning on and off since. The hood latch too....

Crap it's the post timeline police again! I'm sorry officer, I swear I wasn't looking at the post date! I swear anytime I do anything that's text from now on I will be sure to read the date and time from now on before I even read it.

I really don't mind it when someone bumps a thread if they have a good solution, just don't ask 'what size wheels you running' on a ten year old thread
