Hoodpin decisions

I think that they're really cool. Have you priced them yet? will 2 of them secure the hood so that it can effectively replace the stock hood catch, and not allow it to move around like regular hood pins will?

Let me know what you find out, I'm ready to get a set if they are not just stupid expensive.

They're around $85.00 a set. Just depends where you purchase them. I also found them on ebay for a resonable price. Talked with a few people about them, and are used alot in the motorsport field. Some people actually use them for door latches also. What i like about them is there smooth when mounted and have the option available to be locked with a key. They can also be painted to match your body color which would allow them to blend in.

I've always wanted to try those Aero-Catch pieces. They look sweet. Nice and flush against the hood surface (provided they're installed correctly). I didn't try them because I'm not what would pass as a body man (let's just say that I know my limitations), and the thought of screwing up while cutting the necessary holes in my new hood, has me apprehensive.

Steer clear of Mr. Gasket hood pins though (the chrome at least). Once a week I have to hit it with Mothers to keep the rust stains away.
