okay ive done the search, and looked at allot of post and pics. what im looking for is close up type pics of hood pins, heres why........our 89 had the mr.gasket hoodpins and they have a small hole around the pin lol. but i ordered the frpp set and the hole around the pin is big and you would see around it and down in the hood. soooo can you fellers post a good pic of what you have used.
thanks

I have always used the FRPP pins because the Mr. Gasket and other cheaper brands will eventually rust. Why are you worried about the size of the hole? It allows you a lot more options for mounting points especially if you are dealing with SN95 hoods like I am.

Rain? A car with hood pins probably shouldn't be seeing rain... Nor should the pins be in an area where a bit of moisture would be a a problem.

Here are mine, installed with a Boss FG hood. Ford Racing pins, the holes are a little bigger than the pins but that gives you a little wiggle room when you drill the holes in your hood. Water getting through won't hurt anything.

If you use too tight of a hole on a Mustang hood and you're using the factory hinges, it will never close. You need to have a larger hole because the angle the hood comes down or just go to 4 pins or dzus fasteners and lift-off.

Did you see this thread?

The only thing I can suggest is finding a piece of thin rubber gasket and cut a hole in it to help keep rain from getting in.

Just take a small piece of vacuum/heater hose, cut it and place it over the pin. That way when closed it will cushion the hood and keep tension on the pin so it doesn't vibrate as much, and also fill the void.

Another good option is go to your local golf driving range and grab some rubber tees they have out there and use around your pins
