hooking motor back up and i have ?'s

#1 and the most confusing thing my belt is way to big to use and i didnt delete the a/c or anything what is the stock belt size for the 89 mustang

#2 fuel is shooting out the number 8 injector and it appears the top of the injectors plugged or something

#3 i must have the starter hooked up wrong but i looked on my buddies car and hooked it up how his is with just 1 wire on it seemed a little weird cause there wasnt a hot wire hooked up, just a ground, but his works so i just followed that. anybody know what hooks up to the starter.

#4 when i turn the key it clicks once like the batterys dead but i had it hooked up to a booster pack so i know its getting juice. this makes me think something with the starter(no hot wire).

help would be appreciated but i have till 1pm to figure this out i wanna see this beast run today.

SO, all factory equipment is back on? If that's the case and the belt doesn't fit, then you've done something wrong, like install it incorrectly. Regarding injector issues, if it's leaking from the top, then either the rail isn't pushed down all the way or the oring is missing or cracked.

this is what i got done this afternoon. replaced all the o-rings on the injectors solved that problem. for some dumb reason theres no ground on the starter so i ran a ground from that to the frame which i have to fix tomorrow cause its smokin when i turn it over. on the plus side i now know my motor runs cause it turned over just gotta figure out the belt issue cause i have all the accesories on and in the right position so im double checkin it tomorrow. fix the belt, ground the starter, put on the midpipe and she'll be locked cocked and ready to fuggin rock.
any ideas on groundin the starter?

probly the old style but the thing is it only worked when i grounded it to the frame. its probly bout 8 inches long and 4 inches wide (granted its a cylender i know this) so im confused cause im used to having more than 1 wire going to the starter. any ideas cause i really wanna get this pig back on the road. i just dont get why itd work when its grounded if it wasnt supposed to have a ground wire on there. not to mention i really dont wanna take it back out cause thats a pain in the ass itself.

on a factory setup the engine is grounded from the battery to the timing chain cover. The starter uses the engine block as a ground. it the has a positive heavy guage wire running to it coming from the solenoid. did you relocate your battery or something. goit any pics of your motor or wiring

i dont have a digital camera but i think you figured out my problem. theres only 1 ground i hooked back up on the block the rest i hooked to the engine bay cause it seemed closer (probly shoulda took better pics when i pulled the motor). its at school for my auto project so i cant do it now but ill try that tomorrow. if i cant get it to work by hookin all the grounds up to the block i should be fine taking a ground from the starter and wiring it to the block right?

Again, there is NO ground wire for the starter. Period.

You only need one wire going to the starter. It'll be a large cable (4 or 6 gauge) and go from the starter to the starter solenoid on the drivers side fender. It should be connected to the opposite solenoid post from the battery.

yah that fixed it. i found the wire hangin down in front and bolted it to the front accesories cause i couldnt break the bolt off. im having problems finding where teh smog pump bolts up though. i was thinkin bout just taking it off cause i live in wisconsin but i decided i'd keep it on. hopefully i can figure this out cause i wanna get that belt on and take it for a spin this afternoon.
