I had mine hooked up in the black 07 GT, but the Grabber Orange car has active theft and there is more stuff in the over head light thing... and I hooked it up the exact same way, the gray wire and black wires, and they stayed on all the time and shut off after like 10 minutes of having the car off in my Black GT, but this one, once I turn the car on and shut the door, the radar detector turns off. wtf is up with that? Any ideas???

Mine's like your's and I did the same thing--wired it up wrong at first. I ended up hooking into almost every wire up there. I finally got it to work with the doors shut. I don't think any of them will turn off automatically on my car. I'm going to run a switched 12V wire to the fuse box when I get a chance. I'd love to know if someone has an answer to this. Right now, I'm just manually turning the thing off and on. Can't remember which wires I ended up with.

I just ran mine to the middle black wire and I beleive a green wire. Oddly the black is a constant +12v. A meter is your friend and you should never have had to try all the wires. I do have to manually turn off but I noticed that wire loses power after so long because when I went out the next morning it ran a self test when I opened the doors then stayed on all day.

Under the overhead light panel, I just drilled a small hole into the metal (obviously NOT the roof) and used a self tapping screw and an eyelet connector. It's worked perfectly every since. Turns itself off after 15-20 minutes.

I'm using a Passport 8500 right now. I don't have any pics, but I'll try to get some soon.

I'm using the same, so I'm always interested in how others have theirs mounted. Right now, I'm using the included mount & have it just over my NJ inspection sticker (lower drivers side). I originally placed it above the overhead lights but the texture of the pony kept it from sticking there.
