Progress Thread Hoopty v2.0 - Back in action!

I did something similar buying a couple different SRT Dodge models for dailies. The trouble with that (for me) is we still have the same bug and spend money modifying/upgrading the daily hot rod instead of playing with the classic hot rod.

I've been pretty good about not modifying DD's. I think i'm going to pick up an Explorer ST shortly, and have it in my mind to not modify it at all despite folks getting 600HP or so from then with relatively minor mods/tune.

I’ve been wanting to pick up a C6 or 1st or 2nd Gen CTS-V for a daily driver. Just haven’t found a deal I couldn’t pass on yet lol. Everyone is after them so prices are still pretty crazy. So for now I’ll just keep driving the New Edge I picked up to leave the SuperDuty parked! Lol

I recommend watching the Chris Sullivan video on youtube about the CTS-V he picked up for 5K.. Its a good watch.....

Speaking of side-of-the-road finds, a local guy found a set of BBS RK wheels on a mustang in a used car lot. He wont say what he paid other than CHEAP. So now he has a set of RKs on his Cobra. SHEESH!!

Regarding my wheels, its been weird. No lowball offers, not even an "Is this still available" message.

I felt like $750 for original anniversary wheels with tires was something that I'd be fighting people off for. Hmm.

I have been lusting over a Jaguar XK for a daily
I looked at those about 8 years ago for a fun driver... They were really good buys...
There was a big change in the engine, I think around 01 maybe?? Much improved cam gears, chain and tensionsers... U might want to check it out

Took me a week to sell a set F150 wheels with pretty good tires for a $100 bucks

The post facelift (12-15) is my favorite looks wise and it has the 5.0 with updated interior but the 07-09 fits my budget better. I can basically do a straight trade value wise with the CTS-V for around 15k. I think they’re gorgeous cars and the power train is bulletproof

Man, the stress of ordering custom wheels is suffocating. YOU and YOU ALONE have to measure everything. If youre wrong? Youre out thousands.

FK ME.

The PDF attached is just for measuring around the brakes. Then you gotta do backspacings and offsets. Sheesh.

Straight edge, machinist square, tape measure, someone else that can read a tape, and cold adult beverages of your choice (or not). Helped a buddy measure for his three-piece Forgeline wheels and that dude fretted over it for over a month. With the coin he was dropping I didn't blame him but holy when they got bolted up to his car it was worth all the agony.

Ive got a buddy coming over saturday and we're going to knock it out.

I ordered rears for my 67 dodge... I found that besides measuring, if you or your buds have some different sized wheels with different back sets that you can try out on the car works well too.......
