So Cal
Ok, so the little plastic plate thing for my rightside horn button popped out, couldn't get it back in there because the little hook parts broke off. The rest of the horn button assembly is still in there. I found replacement horn buttons, I ordered and now have. They are the complete horn button assembly. My question is, do I just pry the rest of it out of the steering wheel and insert new one? Anybody know? Any help would be much appreciated!

Found this thread because I too have broken horn buttons on my 1990 (again). I've replaced one once already perhaps 10 years ago and don't remember it being much of a problem installing them, but the hard part now if finding anyone that sells them!

Well, I did find these....

Can I ask where the original poster (or anyone else who knows) got them????

Thanks for the link. I will give him a shot.

Too bad noone is making repros of those and other foxbody mustang parts.:(

Wow, glad I bought mine way back in 2002 or something when they were still in stock!

This is a really easy job, I have done it. The horn button actually pushes through from the inside of the steering wheel. Remove the horn pad and airbag, which is four bolts as mentioned above. I shouldn't have to tell you to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes prior to messing with the airbag, but I will :)

Once you have it apart, you can see the wires. Unplug the switch, remove it, and slide the new one in the same way the old one came out. It is really, really easy.

EDIT: As an aside, didn't some of the early crown victorias use this same steering wheel? I would think that horn buttons must be out there in huge numbers if they interchange.
