Traffic around here in Leesburg VA is really bad. But this morning, there was very little. So I'm accelerating speed is around 50 when all of a sudden, the truck in front of me hits his breaks and swervs off the road. He wasn't paying attention to the guy infront of him and that guy was stopped. Man, I had to jam on my breaks and I heard my tires screeching. If i wasn't paying attention, I definitely would have rear ended that guy at 50mph. I was just stunned and sat there greatfull that I didn't hit him. I now realize how close i was to lossing my car.

Now I drive like a grandma.

Been there done that.... only I went from relieved to hearing more tires screeching and seeing a Geo Tracker crawling under my stang.

One month after I bought the car no less. His insurance company tried to screw me too... saying it was the person's fault in front of me. I explained that I didn't hit the person in front of me..... it was really bad until I found out that Insurance company was based in Jefferson City, MO. After getting harrassed on the phone, I told them I was going to call my uncle in Jeff City to talk to them.

They were like, who is he? I replied with his name and told them that he was a partner in the largest law firm in Jeff City. They didn't speak for a long time, and then named the law firm (as they recognized his name)... I laughed, yup that's the one. They slowly replied in a sad voice, your uncle is OUR legal attorney that we use.

I got everything paid for including a rental car that I didn't pick-up. I borrowed my dad's extra car.

If they don't shake the steering wheel they are probably fine.

Usually warping them involves water for me. Getting them really hot and hitting a puddle or something.

Sorry to hear that gcomfx.com. I'm thankfull that the guy behind me was far away. Do you guys think my breaks are now ruined because of this? I hit it pretty hard, my backpack flew from the back seet to the windshield (it had a lot of books in it).

what sucks if you hit the other car in front of you, youre the driver at fault. been in the same situation myself. i was behind a big cargo van (the ones you cant see around, lol) and he wasnt paying attention and skidded offf the road, lucky for me there was a turning lane there and i just hopped into it to avoid the crash. still got my cardio for the day, thats for sure!

Wow! I've sent stuff flying before, but never that bad!

I had an incident not long after getting my new brakes that made me DAMN glad that I had upgraded them. I would have had a serious mess if I'd had the old stockers still.
