Hot tranny?

if i touch my carpart above the tranny and shift boot them seem to be alot hotter than normal.. anyone have this happen before?

Do you have the lower insulation boot (the rubber one) installed?

Otherwise, now that it is getting colder out, you might be feeling the heat from that area, whereas during the summer you didnt since everything was hot.

He said it feels "hotter than normal" - so it is not normal for him.

yea not.. if im stopped at a light and take off i can see smoke comming up from the tranny area.. inside the car..and if i feel the carpet and center consol its very warm.. i dont think its normal. or is it

Dude mine gets so hott i cant leave my hand on it to long it burns a bit. Same with the ashtray door. I think its because i dont haVE my lower shift boot.

that happened to my cousin it was becuase his trans was overfilled

actually it is because i didnt put that extra inside boot on.. now the heat from the tranny can come right in heh

Im gonna put my lower boot back on and see if it fixes it..

That area gets really hot in my car also, but i guess it's just normal. then again the car had the interior stripped at one time and they did a piss poor job of reinstalling it.
