How about a Fox 5.0 Tuning Forum?

The 94-95 guys started a forum for aftermarket tuners like the TwEECer, and it is doing very well for them.

Is there enough interest to start a similar sub forum for the fox guys?

The differences between their computers and ours are pretty extreme in some cases. I have been confused a couple of times over there.

If you are interested post up a response.
If there seems to be enough people interested we can contact a moderator.

Looking to set up a tuner eventually and would really like to know more as far as what's current and what advances are in the future.

Jason, it's a good idea. I've seen some of the instances where the info posted was load-based specific, even though we know you dont run a 5N processor.
And they really dont want fox info in there anyhow, so I think yours is a good idea. It would be a nice child-forum type thing.

It is a good site, just not for the tweecer.

I was the last post in the N/A tweecer section on 3/9

They do have some good FAQs and such though.

The guys in the sn95 5.0 section have been very helpful to me. They are great guys.

But like you said I end up filtering out what info I can and cannot use. Pretty tough for a TwEECer noob like myself.

We'll see what kind of response this gets over the next day or so.

I wouldn't mind have a tunning forum.. not neccessarily to tune at this point... but to figure out wether or not the tweecer is for me. I fear if I use it I will screw up the car. (which runs just fine the way it is now)

You can't do that unless you break the engine. If you mess up the tune, just load a copy of your known good one and start over.

I don't think it's a bad idea even though I don't have a Fox anymore. A lot of the info would carry over to other non-OBD or OBD-1 EEC-IVs. I'd like to see some stuff about J3 chips like the Moates adapter.

Something basic should work. How about...

Should we add a Fox 5.0 Tuner Forum?

Usually a great idea but I don't think that a poll will really reflect the need in this instance. There aren't a whole lot of folks who currently run something like a TwEECer or PMS in the Fox forums. It's largely due to the ease of being able to get chip burned. This kind of sub-forum has the potential to change that for a lot of folks. How many times have we seen someone ask advise about buying a part and shy away from it because of lack of popular support.

I think more folks might take that leap into driveway tuning if they knew that there were answers to their questions a few key strokes away. The TwEECer forums are just NOW getting to the point where they are usable but those forums don't get near the traffic that SN does.

Run the forum for a few months THEN see what poll results are like.

I've had a TwEECer for over a year now. I just got around to putting it in today after having spent many a sleepless night over on the TwEECer forum. Despite the study time, I'm bumbling around like a TV repair man trying his hand at molecular bio-engineering.

Final thought: SN seems to be thriving off of folks that are do-it-your-selfers.

That's exactly what this is and what's being asked for. An additional forum for tuning specifically for folks that want to do it themselves.

I think Daggs is on to something. If there was a place (or specific forum) for us to dicuss some of the do's and don'ts about "backyard tuning." We would probably see a larger turn out as more people would know of a place to gather with common questions. Right now most people probably shy away from self tuning simply because there isn't a user friendly enviornment to ask questions in.

Right now my car is so stock but I'll be working on making things different in a few years and will probably end up with a TWEECER
