How about honing out the TB? or the Intake?

Any horsepower or torque to be had from honing out the throttle body or the intake? I know that you cant hone the whole tb i mean just right up to the plate and then the other side, plate diameter would still be a restriction but maybe something to be had from this?

I found porting the upper plenum worked well for me. I also added a spacer. Another guy I know, ported his as well and swears he gained .2 in the quarter. That might be a stretch, but if you've got the time and patients, it's worth it. I would'nt touch the throttle body though .

Same here - I ported my old plenum from the 02 and plopped it on the 01, along with a spacer and I think it made a couple HP.
On the 02, it's got the Accufab combo and I KNOW it is quicker...very evident power increase above 3000 RPMs.
If you have a Sat afternoon to kill, porting is worth doing, IMO.

Seriously, you don't need any coating on the elbow or throttle body.

the TB's are coated on the inside so if you polish them its supposed to mess up the airflow I read that over on MD awhile back.

I don't know how it effects the air flow but the reason the no-stick coating is on there is to stop carbon build-ups. It's just about worthless. Always clean the TB deposits when you do a tune-up.

honing the path of flow on the intake makes minimal gains to a N/A car now if your force fed there may be a few more cfms than before due to the volume it is pushing through. Learned that with my old eclipse GSX. With that turbo'ed car i did notice a difference in spooling and sotp feel after i Honed the intake and TB.

Not honing, that was my bad. more boreing out. i was hoping to pick up a little torque with this. may just save up for an accufab setup.
