How accurate is a speedo Recal??

i am going to be buying gears soon and i want to know if it is better to get the speedo recal kit or get the ecu done?

I am more or less in the same place you are. In the end both would accomplish what you want. The SpeedCal, however, would allow future adujustments for changes in gears and/or tire height. ECU would need to be flashed again (more money) while the SpeedCal could be recalibrated by you (free). Accuracy would be nearly identical I'm sure.

I just bought a Gear & Speed Recal. yesterday. I expect to have them delivered for the weekend.

I too had the same Questions, Do I get a Hypertech Programmer III, or a Brothers Speedo Recal? I thought that I could first start off with less money buying the recal over a ECU programmer. And later If I want a Programmer I could sell the Recal.

Enjoy.

I installed my speedcal yesterday and it is balls on accurate. A note though. If you have a 99+ auto you will have to have a computer flash. The speedcal works with 5 speeds and 96-98 autos only.
