How bad is freqent high rpms?

When I start my car I have the pedal to the floor to help it gain oil pressure and hold it on the rev limiter, clears out the carbon.

Be nice to the thing, looks like you've got a nice car. I mean acouple times when you drive it is one thing, but theres no need to rev it that high even though Iam sure the tach is off. You'll end up floating the valves thats for sure and like everyone else said the car isnt making power that high so why push it?

You may want to not rev it UNTIL you get oil pressure....if you don't have any oil in the cylinders why would you rev it up and put more strain on it?

Ok, but i usually try to run with only about 1 Litre of oil in the engine. It makes it rev faster... will this trick still work for me?

Anyways, didnt expect so much headshaking:nonono: .... I know its not good for it, i was basically wondering how much worse 6000 is than 5000 for an engine. and from what some of you have said, i guess it's exponential....

FWIW, I had a feeling this is what you meant; that's why I posted what I did and nothing else.

Your line of thinking (as I saw it) was along the lines of wanting to know if taching to 6K would shorten the lifespan of the engine by some known big percentage, or if the motor was made for it and should be able to take it.
