How big is the gas tank really?

i bet gas is a lot more there being full service they gotta include their hourly rate in to make a profit

Actually it's about 20c cheaper then right over the bridge here in PA. I think it has something to do with the taxes on their gas.

man, i think i wouldn't even know how to pump gas if i had to. i never even thought about it. gas isn't that expensive here. like 2dollars for reg, and 2 and a half for plus. i am pretty sure that NJ is still the only state that does this.

That's extremely strange! wow...

I don't think I'd know what to say if I didn't have to pump my own and someone did it for me...

very few gas stations here are full service anymore...our Sunoco's are however, but I think that's an american gas company, am I correct?

just gonna mention the fuel pump thing the gas keeps it cools and you keep pushing every bit of gas you got till its empty your gonna be replacing a lot of fuel pumps. when it says e its not really empty but you need to fill up no need to let it get any lower for any reason.

NOW you tell me....oops. I always am that low...:(

Ok well sorry I have not replied, lol not trying to bring back a dead forum, but I filled up this weekend and it filled 14, so go figure tank is bigger than 13.2, lol. But As far as the gas keeping the fuel pump cool apparently your right, I just asked my instructor, and apparently there is arching going on in there constatly. I dont like the idea of arching and gas lubricating my fuel pump.

There should not be arching occuring inside the gas tank. It's the lack of volatility of liquid fuel that makes us not totally freak out about having electrical connections inside the tank.

Plus the fact that 12V isn't enough potential difference to arc across anyway, even in water for that matter.

94GTMOOSE is right. You can't pump your own gas in Jersey. Was the strangest thing I had ever seen, well since I was a kid in the 70's and gas stations still had full service. In Jersey, it was an answer to an unemployment problem they had years ago. They figured if you couldn't get a job anywhere else, you could always pump gas for a living. Kinda smart I guess.

And HISSIN that was one of the craziest things I had ever seen when I helped a friend change out his fuel pump. I couldn't believe they actually spliced the wires internally to the gas tank.
