and also, how can i advance timing with the Xcal2?

thank you

he didnt give me any files. I only got the Xcal2 unit with 3 tuned (87,93 and 97)with the USB connection Thats all i got :( i have to download all software from sct now:bang: and i'm having trouble doing so.so if the 87 tune disnt advance my timing , i can still do so and get a few more pony's :)

i dont want to completely hi-jack your thread, but i just bought an SCT-2 today because i recently installed o/r pipes and am having FRPP 4.10s installed this weekend. i know i can correct my speedo and clear codes, but what else can be done, performance wise anyway? why are tuners so popular?

i guess im asking what else can the tuner do, and how exactly does it improve or affect performance of the car?

Sorry you didn't get the tunes from your dealer - when we sell an XCal 2 we provide a custom CD for all the customers with 3 tunes on it, and a copy of LiveLink. Xtreme Tune, Live Update, the latest firmware and a Custom users manual that I developed for SCT. You can download Xtreme tune to add a couple more degrees of timing - as long as it doesn't ping you are OK - maybe the dealer can email you a file with a bit of timing in it to try??

You can make a number of adjustments with Xtreme tune depending on your EEC Code - but gears, timing and fuel are usually available to all cars, but to do that, your dealer needed to supply you with the tunes.

I could easily supply the tunes to you guys, but since I didn't sell the Xcals I probably should not to step on another dealer's toes.

Hope this helps.

Don

First pick is what I can modify. Timing is +2 -6.

I plugged my SCT2 into my OBD2 port and then plugged the usb cable into my laptop and went for a ride while recording many things...too many. lol!

I really like it...if you have a 5speed you can setup a launch rev limiter meaning when the car is standing still you can mash the throttle and it will only rev upto what you pre programed it to rev to and as soon as the car starts to roll the first stage limiter turns off and you goto your 2nd limiter which is what you set your redline to be. Data logging is pretty cool too...just wish I understood what I was looking at though.:nice:
