ok, my car is in arizona and i live in mexico. due to the fact that my car may never pass imissions testing i dont think i will ever be able to get tags. i was wondering if there was a way to get my car into mexico without tags. can i tow it or put it on a trailer? can i even cross interstate lines with it on a trailer and without tags? it would mean a lot if i could get any kind of info. thx

As long as it's on a trailor I don't see why they'd care

As long as they search it and make sure your not smuggling anything in, and your not driving it, I dont see why it would be a problem. You can tell them you havent registered the car yet, and your taking it to your garage.

You tow that thing to Mexico, you might as well just hang a sign on it that says "Steal Me!" and leave the keys inside of it.

As far as towing across state lines... that's not even a factor. The vehicle is not being "operated" on state roads so does not require tags. You should have the title in your possession though.

Might be a hell of allot easier to continue to register it in the state you're in... Even if it means adding your brother to the title so that you can use his address.

Jump the fence in the middle of the night.

On a serious note, with your e cam, some carb tuning and cats, you should be able to get your car to pass emissions. Having a geniune inspection truely does relieve stress.

I work in S. Texas, you always see mexican nationals trailoring, even towing 2 or 3 cars behind them back to Mexico. It shouldnt be an issue at all if you tow or trailer it.

I'd be asking the Mexican authorities rather than a bunch of Stangnet guys. Be a real PITA if the Federales decided that they needed the car more than you do.
