How can I loosen up these tight rockers nuts??

When I was building my motor, when i was adjusting the rockers and when i got each rocker lash set I put a little loctite on the small allen bolt that keeps the (poly nut?) tight? Ill be changing my lifters in a few days and Ive tried loosening a couple lock nuts up and the whole entire stud came out of the head So my question is how can I loosen the little allen screw out of the big nut without buying all new studs and poly nuts? Only thing i can think of is hold the stud in like vice grips(i dont have a vise) and put a wrench on the big nut and try to loosen it. Im doing this at a friends house and neither of us have a garage so yea it will suck lol

propane torch will melt the locktite.

the allen bolt doest tighten down into a nut? everytime ive seen a poly lock it is a stud mount with a nut on it that has a allen bolt that screws into the top that holds the adjustment. i dont think my description is right on par...but its the best i can do at this hour. put a allen wrench in it and than put a wrench on the base part and man up.

Yea u r right but ive tried and its way too tight to where i could loosen with an allen key and wrench, i tried it like that and my allen key was bending bad and i didnt want to strip the inside or break the allen key in the bolt. If you loosen the nut off the stud it should be alot easier to get the allen screw out.

Just remove the actual adjusting nut and it'll come right off.

Either brake the nut loose or I always have no problem with a good allen wrench working to take off BLUE Loctite.

If you used Red or Green your going to need some heat.

And use as little heat as possible if you have to go that route. If they glow, or the color distorts on them at all, they're garbage. They're tempered during manufacturing, and too much heat would effectively destroy them. Pick up a quality set of allen keys, or allen sockets and try that route first. They'll come off either way. Use heat.. a propane torch is like $4+the head. Maybe $25 tops, go buy one!

How about double nutting the opposite side of the stud?

I had to use double nuts with a ratchet allen set and a vice to get mine off...
I was afraid to use heat, but it worked... stupid red loctite
