how can i tell what rear end i have?

the guy who sold me it said it was 8.8 posi but the car was a 4 cly i know he was full of crap but how can i find out? and my tranny is probly a 4 cly one i'm building a 351w does this tranny stand a chance with that engine or will i need to get a new one from a 5.0? If I do what do I have to do the swap them?

if it is a 4cylinder tranny, no.... it won't even stand a chance with a lightly modded 302 or even a stock 302 for that matter. I had one in my 84... and broke it in about 2 days.

so i must have the 5.0 t5 cuz i have a 302 in the car right now and its running high 14s so their no way its a 4cly tranny right?
