heh i guess this is a tech question. I hate rain x it makes my glass fog up and leaves horrible streaks. How do you get it off i tried rubbing alchohol to no avail.

I would say a good ammonia or alcohol based glass cleaner should do the trick. Also with rain-x its like wax for the windows. If you put it on and try to buff it off in the hot sun it will streak and look bad. Try to apply it in the shade or best would be in the garage and it works great.

If it's streaking, it's not the Rain-x. You have a greasy windshield or blades. Since you cleaned the windshield with alcohol that would have removed any remaining Rain-x as well as any grease or road crud. So replace your blades, they're crap.

I've been told twice now that RainX will fill the pores on the glass so it's smooth and if you need to have a chip repaired they will not be able to fix it because the product they use to fill/seal the chip or crack will not be able to bond to the glass correctly.

I still use it on all four of our fords, it will have streaks after you apply and buff. I do this before washing the vehicle which cleans the residue/streaks off.

My wipers haven't worked for 3 years. I depend on that stuff! RainX will not streak if you buff the windshield with a towel after putting it on.

I first use a glass stripper compound to completely clean the hell out of the glass then put the RainX on. The I buff it with a towel to remove the streaks, then aplly it again and repeat 3 times. You won't even know the windshield is there.

If you are sure it is on the outside (I know interior streeaks are from the dash shine products) then you need to take a dry rag and buff away. This happened to me once and this worked for me. Can't remember if I also applied a little more rain-x to re-buff it or not...

I concur. Follow the instructions and it will be perfect. If not, then something has stained your window.
