How do I disconnect my fuel spout?

I'm about to drop my fuel tank so that I can install my new 255lbs fuel pump.

The tank is easy enough, 2 straps and lower it onto the ground.. but for the life of me I can't see how to undo the fuel spout. Can one of you guys help me real quick..

I'm a great wrench turner, but I don't want to turn something simple into a disaster, by assuming..

You gotta go to Auto Tech, Advanced Auto, or Auto Zone.... get the fuel line disconnect tool. it will come as a set of diff sized things for different fuel lines. they're just plastic things that slide around the line but up under the lip where it connects. u put the right sized one around the line, and up under that lip at the connect and push. then u can pull the lines apart. ..if u've been under there i hope you know what im talkin bout.. i messed with mine for like 30 cussin minutes before i call and asked how and those little stupid plastic things work miracles.

*screwdrivers ...WILL NOT WORK HAHA!

I don't know if you are talking about the spout that goes into the gas tank or the lines, but if you are talking about the spout going into the gas tank, I think I can help. I have never dropped my '94 tank, but have dropped several of my friends fox body stang's gas tanks. There are two bolts located inside of the gas door, take them out first before taking off the straps, then take the straps off of the gas tank. The fuel spout has a grommet it slides into that is on the tank, so the tank you simply slide off of that grommet. It has been a while since I worked on a tank, but I do belief that is close to the right steps to get it down.

buy a new grommet for it too...its usually all cracked to hell...

sorry misunderstood... haha, ya, open the gas door and there's 3 instead of two... but same thing. ... then theres ur fuel lines, like i said. then to pull out the old pump you need a screwdriver and hammer, and theres like a disc with a slit on ea. side the screws down and secures the pump into the tank. PB blast it first then give it a good tap and it should unthread for ya. ...u'll have to play with the pump to get it out of the hole... and REMEMBER exactly which ways you turn and twist to get it out. cuz the other has to go back in the same or u'll be stuck with it not going ALL the way back in.

I just had to replace mine about a month ago.There is 3 bolts and 8 screws that hold the tank on the car. The three bolts are the straps and the 8 screws attach to the filler neck. One screw is on the neck bracket attached to the right side of the tank. 4 on the underside of the fuel door and 3 inside the fuel door. It makes life easier if u let the filler neck drop down out of the fuel door and then pull the neck out of the tank. Then its basically just taking the 2 fuel lines, 2 plugs, and the lock ring off. Remember that u are working around gas and fumes so try to use something to take out the lock ring that will not cause sparks. Assembly is just the reverse.

Yes don't use a screwdriver and hammer. Or anything else that could cause a spark. Use a brass punch or a hard piece of wood.
