how do i install gears???

Drive up to Ponca city and I will help you put them in, you'll have to buy the beer after we get them in though:D . There is a few tools that you must have to do the install. Inch/pound and foot/pound torque wrench's, a dial indicator with a magnetic base, a bearing seperator and a gear oil pump. I'm lucky enough to have access to all these tools and they are required to do a good install.

I can do it in about 4 hours now, a press is really only necessary if you change the carrier bearings out. I learned a real nice way to seat the pinion bearing that doesn't require a press, but if needed I have one at work that I can use on a sunday only type deal :D The thing that will hold up progress is that all of the nuts and bolts are usually very tight if it has never been tore down before which can slow things down considerably. The trick to doing a good job is to measure and check everything 4 times before reassembly.

i hope u have a ford gearset, just makes it easier to setup the way ford set them up with the stock shims and more then likely quieter. 2nd id recomend changing out all the bearings now since ur working on it anyways. Most peoples 94,95 stangs have quite a bit of miles on them now. My car had only 111,000 miles and my rear end was quite noisy and the inner race was all gashed up. So id say its not a bad idea to change now. Also i dont know if u plan to change the speedo gear for speedometer correction but it seems my cobra already had the yellow 7 tooth outputshaft drive gear needed for a proper match with 373s. i took pics and need to clarify for others. and i know my car was never touched which is strange. Maybe only the gt came with the 6th or 8 tooth whichever it was.

I you don't replace the carrier bearings, all you need is the "large bearing separator" that harbor freight sells for $10 to get the pinion bearing off.

My first time, using a lift, I was done in 4 hours.
