how do i make 18" rims fit on my car ?????

I have a 93 5.0 that sits at stock ride height. I have 17" cobra R whells now that rub a little when i turn hard . Other than that they are just out of style . So i was thinking about getting a new set of rims , i really want to go a little larger like 18"9's also wanted to throw in some good springs to give it a more aggressive look. Is it possible ,if so how???

yes, ton's of people do it. an 18 should fit plenty fine. you might have to roll the fenders and more than likely you'll have to flip the quad shocks, but they should be fine. it all depends on the backspacing of the wheel you decide to go with. a nice set of springs would be anything eibach, H&R's are pretty good too. lowering on a set of 18's is a recipe for rubbing up front. there's some people on here with 18's and lowered cars that i'm sure will chime in.

I have 18x9's on my car. 255 up front and 265 out back. Should have gone with 275, but oh well, next time.

I have no problems with rubbing except on full turn. The amount of times I do that is very few so I deal with it. I did not roll my fenders or flip my quad shocks. I have BBK springs in my car, which drops it about 1.75".

No problems with fit.

I run Saleen springs with 18x9 and 18x10 Bullitts. 255/35s out front, 285/35s out back. Rolled fenders, no quads, no rubbing other than one time on a hard hard turn, and another time when I had to ramp up over a steep hill, and I stuffed the wheel.

Out fron they rub on full lock like ANY wide wheel will with our lower A arms, and mine rub on the fenders on bumps. It is worth the look though!

87ttopstang, love the car. Has it ever been featured in any Mustang magazines? I'm just now seeing you car for the first time, and it looks great. Reminds me of my '90. Not that it even comes close to what you have done with your stang.

Just saw your car today in the Modified Mustang Mag. ha sharp ride man. But anywho. What offset 18x9's are you running? And are you using stock length fox axles or sn-95 axles. So you think running a 255 up front and a 275 in the rear? Could you run 265 up front or would you run into rubbing issues? I was thinking about going with a 265 at all 4 corners. But if it rubs then i'll just do a 245 up front and a 275 in the rear.

your car is the reason why i want 18" rims ...it is without a doubt the cleanest mustang i have ever seen .... dont change a thing!!!

run your hand around the inside of the wheel arches. there is a lip usually about 1/2-3.4 of an inch that will rub your tires if they are to big. there are tools and DIY inventions that roll around that lip to bend it out of the way.

whats it cost to get your fenders rolled or rent one of those? is it something anybody could do or best for the pros? it doesnt affect the paint? i could see it causing flaking or cracking pretty easily....
