I think the reason more GT guys aren't going this route is as you and I both agree….that most haven't the skill, or the means to fabricate their own manifolds and brackets from scratch. I mean....you don't see a lot of custom built twin screw kits either. Once the manifold has been designed, and built adapting a particular blower is the easy part. And that tends to be where most Eaton based kits fall short….the big problem with the M112 isn't the blower itself, but the manifold it's attached to.

Kenne Bell mates their Screw Compressors to a very well designed high flow intake manifold. So well designed as a matter of fact, that as a result, manifold pressure drops across the board instead of stacking up within the system like it does with a lot of the Eaton based kits. By reducing manifold restriction, they're able to make more power with less backpressure and heat. That’s why it makes me chuckle every time I see people compare horsepower per/psi when pitting different style kits against one and other. Boost pressure is irrelevant; it’s total airflow that counts. Big inlets, large diameter strait runners, smooth gradual radius’s, increase plenum volume all play a part on how much “boost” you’re gong to see on the gauge. Not just the style/size of the blower and how fast you spin it. Kenne Bell is well aware of this fact as well, but they don’t make it apparent in their sales pitches and comparisons because they’re betting on the fact that the consumer doesn’t and comparing boost figures is easier to sell and looks better on paper.

I'm not trying to convince anyone that an Eaton would be a better choice from a power making perspective over the twin screw…..I’m well aware that it isn’t and contesting the fact would be a fruitless argument, but it certainly wouldn't be the waste of time some less informed individuals might have you believe.....especially if you're starting from scratch and working within a specific budget.

Here's a link to one of the guys over at TCCOA that's rigging up a Custom M112 set up to his 3.8L. Kind of anxious to see how it works out myself. http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=93923

What's wrong with you guys. Even if you had those crazy fab skills AND $500, why go for that when you can have like 40 hp or something for $80. I don't get domestic people sometimes.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Elec...006QQitemZ160102696337QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

There is a "stackable" model that increases the horsepower by the rating of the supercharger minus 15% for each one you add on. So that's like $500 for 1000 hp

Anyone remember that thread about a year and a half ago where one of our members was attaching a leaf blower to their set up. That was one great big long flame war. lol

Well it's good to see this question is alive and well at SN and able to bring discussion, even if it's ground already tread.

I think that I like the kenne bell 2.1 the best price that I have found so far is at seanhylandmotorsport.com. Has anybody found a better price? What all will I need to do this or does it all come with the kb kit? Will I have to use a different octane?

All included in the kit. As long as you've got a basic automotive knowledge, a place to work, some basic hand tools and a weekends worth of your time (including pizza and beer), you shouldn't have any problems installing it yourself.

how much horsepower should I expect with the kb 2.1? Keep in mind my car is stock. Everybodys numbers seem to be over 350. What kind of 1/4 times?

well heres my .02, ford racing says to not pulley the m112 - and for pretty good reason, its going to make alot of heat (cooler upgrade needed) Its going to shorten the life of your motor (over spining the blower in alot of cases) Its not going to be as effeicent ( in many ways) and the power range comes off kilter. "500hp is not 500hp" setup to setup, when you modded the m112 the power band changes. Why else do you see cobras picking up 100 or more rwhp but only improving their et's by usually less them .5 . IMO the centri is going to make for a faster car, and I dont know whay more cobras arnt running them. I mean I know the KB is a easy swap, but that motor can take 7000-7500 rpm or more, and in that zone a nice centri is going to screaming. Anyway not trying to argue or prove fact from fiction... just some food for thought, take it with what you will

I dare you to make a thread on that topic on SVTP...

Just about everyone there has pullied their M112

Can you link to the information from Ford Racing?

Because if we wanted the type of power a centri provides we would just opt for a much superior option... turbo charging. In most applications centri's suck down low/off idle. Torque is more fun then top end rush and WAY more usable on the street for a DD IMHO.

My 2 cents.
