I'm lost when it comes to the coil packs !! How in the hell do advance or retard the timing ? I just replaced the timing belt (easy ) but I can't figure out how to set the timing.

The sad part is I have a manual, but it doesnt say nothing about the it

You don't. If it works, great. If it doesn't, get out your checkbook and replace it. Hasn't the automotive industry made great progress since those neanderthal days when you would actually try to fix something?

91-93 4 cyl Mustangs had distibutorless ignitions. Therefore, you can not set your timing on your own, it's all done by those really cool and useful computer things. 87-90 you could still retard or advance it, but in 91 Ford got bored and decided to make a change.

Yeah, Make sure you got the belt on right and you wont have to time it, which kinda sucks because you cant advance it for more power. You can chip the computer for timing adjustments but that would be waste of money.

adjusting timing

I have been exploring this dilemma and have thoughts of adjusting the crank positioning sensor or even the triggering drum on the harmonic dampener.
Just a mental exersize for now and I had to go mow the lawn, but I can see it working. Looks to be a bit of engineering and machining that I am currently unable to do!

couldn't you get one of those adjustable cam gears (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...ry=33625&item=2456834087&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V) and have at least a few degrees to work with?

yes jug the cam gear will still work.

Egnorant, you can mess with hal sensor to change timing etc...do a search , most people dont mess with it becuase it is alot of work for so very little.
