I was looking into stroking my 5.0, and wanted to get everything strait before i start ordering parts. i have two engines, one broke the crank in half at the second throw, and the other i got from a friend for free after all the bearings (and crank) wore. (dont ask, long story). I was looking at eagel 331 stroker kits. First of all, what does it mean when the say 28oz. balance or 50oz. balance? what about a harmonic balancer? What is all the machine shop work I will have to get done before i can assemble the short block. I am very capable of doing all the non-machine work myself, as i have built and assemble bottom ends successfully before, including an svt contour (that was fun  ). anyway, sorry 'bout all the questions guys, just want to get it right the first time. thanx!

basicly the best thing to do is take the block to a machine shop and just tell them what your doing and they will take care of what needs to be done. its gonna need bored .030, cleaned, honed, etc etc....

go with a 28oz balance.
