So, I pulled the dash... since I need to dye the read part black, and the HAVC box so I can replace the heater core and A/C evaporator... so I decided to pull the computer out also... The car ran find when I got it, drove it home and started taken it about, going on 6 years now . I will be getting a QH tuner for it when i get ready to fire it up this summer (i hope) so I decided to pull the cover off and take a look inside to see if my caps look bad since that seems to be the normal.... I'm no expert, but they seem to look fine to me, also look like the whole board is coated in a protective film, I guess like whats on the expansion port that I read I need to clean off to install the QH.

Also, this ECM seems to be the original one to me, no re-manufacture marks/labels on it.. and the seal was never cut... So how does this look?

Caps look find. Usually the bad ones will leak and the base where the leg solder in will turn a nasty greenish color. Those look pretty clean.

That ECU looks great...one of the better ones I've seen.

Looks like cap leg is in shadow. Looks like that A9L was rebuilt in 2002 but I can't identify what this is a pic of.
Nothing wrong with any of those caps. Replace nothing.

It might be the flash on the PROM. I'm old enough to remember how it used to be done on a "burning" machine, Data I/O Unisite.

I'm pretty sure it was clean looking when I was looking it over, so that might just be a shawdo in the pic (I hope)… I will take the cover off in a bit and take more detail pic of the caps.
