How do you adjust a timing chain to get +-4*?

How do you use the chain to get +-4* on your cam?

The cam gear that comes with the chain is cut to accept a 4* advanced or retarded position, right?

If so, install the gear just like you would, accept lining up the keyways for the 4* advanced or retarded position, which ever you choose.

The fms chain and gear kit are marked right on the gears.You want to install it @ 4*advanced.

Mine have one keyway on each sproket. Do I have to have a gear set with 3 key ways to beable to change the advance on the cam?

Are you using the stock gears and chain? If the yes, then you need to buy a new set!!! They are cheap...a FMS kit is like 65$ from sumitt. It has 9 diff keyways. You don't want to use the old set. They strech over time and won't give you correct timming!
