I have been having an acceleration problem with my car for about a month now. The car idles irraticly and hesitates and stumbles when it hits 3000 rpm, and the car will barely pull past 3500. I hooked up a code scanner to her and got back a code 181, and 189 which says : Fuel system at rich adaptive limit at partial throttle / system lean.

If the car was running rich I don't think it would idle rough or stumble the way it has been. Not too mention I would smell it.

So either I am sucking too much air or am not getting enough fuel. I know that this could be attributed to a variety of problems like clogged injectors, weak fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, bad intake manifold gasket etc...

I know its not the fuel filter because I changed it last week.

I figured before I dove into more expensive problems I would check on the timing.

If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.

Thanks guys

do a quick search on "timing" in the 94-95 specific section. promise you will get at least 10 different threads and probably each will tell you exactly the same.
