How do you take out the center console?

For those of you who have seen my other threads recently you pretty much have the jist that Im taking out my interior. As of now there is nothing left but the carpeting rear seat and center console left. All the bolts are out that are connected to the floors ( seat belt blots Torx bits ) but it seems as though the carpeting is cought up under the center console. I thought I heard from somewhere that the center console has to come out in order to take out the carpeting? If so then how do I get the center console out. The carpeting seems to be hung up around the shifter by the pannel on the side and up under the storage thing we have in the middle w/ the flip top. This is the only thing Ive got left before the carpeting should come out, or so I hope. so how exactly do I get the center console out anyway

pull the center console storage box
there are 2 screws in it and it pops out by pulling the drink holder up.

there are screw in side there and there are 2 that fasten to the dashboard. get to those by pulling the shifter boot up.

dont forget to take the metal plate from under the steering wheel thast 4 pounds you can put the plastic piece back just grab nuts to thread on the back of the bols since it will haev nothing to thread into with the plate gone.

if you need help with any other things with weight reduction, ask away. i have done almost everything so far, or if i havent i know how.

My last thing i am looking for is how to get the door panel off and how hard to remove the door beams. they are 20 pounds a piece. I believe they have to be torched out.

Thanks, I got the 2 out that were under the shifter boot but I figured there were more.

Just lift the E-brake as high as you can and slide the console up and out.

finially got it all out, seats and carpeting are now gone, looks pretty werid w/ nothing in there. I found 1 key and $1.97 in change under my carpet

Snoozer thanks for the tip on that metal peice under the steering wheel, I pulled it back some, I see what you mean I'll get it off tomorrow.

funny you ask b/c I am looking at getting another one. Its gray and there is nothing wrong w/ it. I want to get a black one. As far as the price I dunno how much to even sell one of these for Ive seen them go for almost $100 on mustangparts.com but theres no way Id buy a big hunk of plastic for $100 or try to sell it to anyone for that much.
