I hope Bassani has worked out the problems with the Catco cats they used on the X pipe I had. Tried to for for an inspection and it failed terribley. I'd be more willing to try magnaflow after being burned by Bassani.

They fixed that problem.

Is it just me or does that look like the bx pipe. Here incali w/o salt onour roads the ss pipe shines like the factory exhaust tips(real shiny) compared to the dull aluminized steel look

I think it's just dirty. I've got the SS Catback and the pipes aren't shiny like the tips.

Do you need cats, or are you willing to swap pipes for inspection?

If you want it to just sound mean and loud get one without cats brand new for like $160.

Your paying for the name when it comes to Bassani (the X pipe at least).

If you need cats nab it up because they are expensive otherwise.

I don't NEED cats, but it helps. I won't pass inspection due to tint and HIDs anyway, but I'm not willing to deal with the redic LOUDNESS of O/R exhaust. Plus the smell is raunch and wouldn't fly with me as it's my daily driver.

i dont think the cats are there for smog purposes, theyre there for legality purposes. Even a catted midpipe is an off-road only part. Only time you can replace cats for other cats is if the stockers are deemed unfit for use by a service shop.

I had a bassani X on my 03 Cobra when i sold it, and i KNEW it wasnt gonna pass sniffer but we threw it up on a pre-test anyways and low and behold, failed miserably. stuck the stock H on and passed flying colors.
