How fast are 300zx's?

My buddy has a 85' 300zx na..5 speed. He just re-did he motor, and added some venom injectors or some junk. the car has 175 hp. stock, and he claims his mod gives him 50 hp. He thinks he will be up to how fast my car is when he is done. He wants to race me and my buddy's camaro for money? Can those cars be made fast? I dont have anything to worry about do i?

Almost every car can be MADE fast, but what he did, im assuming his isnt. Ive raced tons of them with allllll the bolt ons and still raped them by 7 cars. He's using the money to intimidate you. Just put the money down. Watch how fast youll be filling up your wallet

You should kill him. I have a buddy with a 87 turbo. I think that was the year. Those have like 200hp or somehting. He would always tell me how fast it was. He did a couple blots ons and he said he had like 280hp(dumb ricer). Well, we raced one time and after about 90 I couldnt even see him in my rear view anymore.

they are not fast, not compared to stangs at least. the '90-'96 turbos are definitely a force to be reckoned with (claimed 300hp stock, twin turbos), but i wouldnt worry about a lightly modded NA 300zx.

just to add to what fast94 said, my old boss while I was in high school had a 93 300ZX twin turbo. She was like 5'1, 29, blonde, cute, went to the gym etc. Anyway, aside from being in love, this car absolutely screwed in the high end. I dont even know what the top speed was, but I know it would smoke pretty much anything else in town on the highway. Don't underestimate these guys until you look under the hood.

i am going to disagree with most of you guys. i work with someone who has a 300zx (the non turbo one) and i think it is pretty fast. the twin turbo ones have like 50 more horses or something like that. all i have to say is the twin turbo ones would probably take a stock or nearly stock gt quite easily.

The older ones like that weren't the fastest.. but they're nice..
My buddy has a 91 with 460 hp.. It screams..

yeah, i think you all are thinking the new body style with the flat type headlights,,,,yeah those screw. Im saying the old bodys, the ones that are squared odd and have flip up headlights. It has a 6 cyl. Stock i believe it is 175hp, 185 tq.

My friend had a 93 300zx N/A and his car is slooooooowwwww. We raced from a 40 roll and it gets real ugly. He raced another friend who has a V6 camaro yes V6 and the 300zx edged him by like a half a car. Unless he has a shot of NAWWSSSS or a turbo you will rape him.
