What are the steps in replacing/inspecting the wheel bearings in the rear?

I asked my mechanic about wheel bearings. He told me they are sealed. (No maintenance.)

So then,

Are they that dificult to replace in the rear?

there are no "wheel bearings" in the rear, however there are axle bearings and there usally good for 100k or more. unless your changing axles, no real need to check them. but if have to change them, its not that hard and you will ned new axle housing seals to-go wth-it.

How do you guys get the bearing back in the axle? I had a bearing driver, but it was plastic.... it worked on one axle. I still need to do the other side someday and was wondering what you guys use.

You can use a socket of the same size and drive it in that way. Pearl02.
