Kinda what the subject says? How much horsepower can the stock throttle body support before it pegs? They are 70mm on sn95's right? I know an aftermarket will flow more, but was just wondering how much hp the stocker can support? Thanks!

seems to max out at the 300-ish rwhp mark.

Here is some basic info for how the maf works and how it's info is processed by the pcm.

Having read that you can see that it is NOT about hp or fuel when talking about mafs ...... it is all about ...... AIRFLOW.

It is not fair to use my combo to judge airflow production as I was able to use my Tweecer to give me a little more capability with the airflow but never the less, that combo still pegged the stocker. You need to know somebody who does not have the ability to make pcm changes will max or peg their stocker a bit sooner.

I'm not trying to be elusive about answering your Q but try to look at it this way. A ported oem iron head h/c/i combo with all supporting parts is most likely not gonna produce as much airflow as the same combo with a set of better flowing Aluminum heads.

See what I mean?

On the other hand ................

Here is some some ball park kind of info that might help based on my dataloggs from my combo and from other combos I've seen.

It is my belief that a h/c/i combo with a set of TFS, AFR, or any good flowing head with all of the supporting parts that work well toghther and using an untuned 94-95 pcm is gonna peg the stock maf at around the 280 to 290rwhp point.

Then again, that just ain't gonna happen cause you always run outta fuel way before you run outta airflow when talkin about using stock tb/maf/inj's at stock fuel pressure AND maintaining an OPTIMUM air to fuel ratio.

nice info. seriously, good stuff. i was trying to see if i could get away with the stock maf with a kenne bell supercharge r and 42lb injectors with a chip. my plans are to have the car dyno tuned shortly after installing the blower. im thinking the kenne bell will only give me a 320hp rear wheel figure, but it may be a little more. i may still just do the lightning maf but it requires some mods to the whole intake tract to make it work, not to mention the harness needed, etc.

I would sug. a 90mm Lightning MAF, I would not run boost with a stock meter, unless you only rev it to like 3k and dont go WOT past that until you get a bigger meter.

cent. chargers push air, so you will need a blow threw.

roots blowers like the KB suck air threw the MAF so you can use a draw threw unit, and ford already makes one for the gen2 lightning and 03-04 cobras that have a very close MAF transfer.
