How important is matching the cubic feet of volume for a sub?

I just built my box for my sub today and came very close to matching the manufacturer's suggested box volume. Rockford Fosgate recommends 1.25 cubic feet of volume in a sealed box for my sub. I just measured up my box and used the "volume calculator" at crutchfield.com and found out that I have a volume of 1.19 in my sub box. Is this fine? I also figured out that I can bump my volume up to 1.24 just by making a new sub cut-out board and moving it outward more (which will help to increase my boxes internal volume). Is it worth it to make the new piece for the box or will I not see much of a difference between 1.19 and 1.24 cubic feet of volume?

Its fine how it is. The only problem you would have is if it was like 50% smaller than recommended sizes. If you are not going into any spl contests...I would say leave it, you will never know the difference

If you're worried, put 1 pound of fiber-fill in the box. I do it on ALL my sealed boxes. 1-1.5lb/cubic foot.

Thats a good idea...I used it on my first box. Worked pretty well from what I could tell
