do you torque ds bolts? i can't get socket on them to use a torque wrench..

Use a swivel socket.

it is an 11 mm 12 point socket. i am able to get them when i go straight at it. if not, i use a wrench and hammer. you can get 2 at a time, then rotate the DS half a turn. put the e-brake back on.

yeah its a 12 12. And you can jam a pry bar or a flat head screw driver in the u joint to hold it still and torque them down. i always hammer them with an impact and be done with it.

I agree with ^ , waste of time to torque, screwdriver in u-joint seems like a bad idea though, I just put it in gear

I'll impact them down, need to buy a swivel 12pt 12MM. use loctite or locking washer?

I use loc tite. Get the blue stuff (medium strength).

I've bent 2 wrenches loosening DS bolts. If you're going to impact them on, make sure you still have the impact wrench to get them back off.

+1 on blue loctite, dont need to impact um, just use the box side of a wrech, then hook another wrench onto the other side to get more leverage.

It's best to replace the bolts. The new ones come with pre-installed threadlock.

man i remember taking the factory ones off....car was on jackstands and a breaker bar with long piece of pipe to stand on was needed to break them loose.

Just get new ones with thread locker already on them and tighten em down with an impact wrench or jack the rear of the car up. I've jacked the rear of the car up, then set the rear tires on ramps. Keeps the ds from turning and you can get a tq wrench under there.

The onlt way to fit a torqu wrench is to have a swivel 12pt 12mm. I have tried a swivel adapter with no luch. i only have swivels in 6pt.

I'll get some knew bolts.
