How is Autometer's Customer/Warranty Service?

One of my gauges (electric fuel pressure) stopped working a couple weeks ago. The light in it still works, but the gauge itself has just completely stopped working. I got around to checking the wiring today, and found that it had a perfect ground and over 12 volts of current. So my conclusion is that the gauge is bad. Autometer has a 1 year warranty on their stuff, and I got the gauge in March, so it's still under warranty.

My question is whether or not to even bother with them on a warranty claim. I know some companies are great about this kind of stuff, and I know some that aren't. I just don't want to waste time/hassle/shipping money if they aren't going to fix it.

Yes, call them - they *should* take care of you. Had great results in the past with Autometer's customer service/tech personnel, outstanding company IMHO.

My experience:

I had repeated sending unit failures due to the NVH issues (on an old short sweet electric oil PSI gauge). The tech and I arrived at the conclusion that their sending unit was prone to failure from hard mounting the sending unit directly to my oil cooler. Found out that remote mounting the sending unit with a short length of braided hose, instead of mounting it directly to the oil cooler, would alleviate the problem. Autometer replaced my sending unit free of charge. :)

G'luck !

I thought I'd follow up with this.

I got the gauge back a couple of weeks ago. When I called them, they said to send just the head unit and sending unit. They sent me an entire new unit: gauge, unit, wires, mounting bracket, etc. all NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Bottom line: Autometer rocks. :nice:
