How is this intake manifold?

Yeah im thinking of goin the route of the heads that you mentioned above. The full deal but do I have to send my heads to them and do they port them or do they have a core charge? Also if i do this i will talk to some people to decide which cams i should be using.

For this year i just bought a 95 saturn sc1 for a daily driver cause its good on gas for like 800 and im gonna sell the eddie bauer i drive for like 4000. It has 114k and its a 95. Then i have like 3g thats also saved because i was gonna sell the gt and get a 01 cobra.

Now I think im just gonna dump the money into my car and be fast.

Think i should get the cobra or put the money into my 97GT

Put it in the 97! It will be your own custom street machine. Anyone with a fair ammount of pocket change can go get a cobra, and drive it. You will have a truly unique car, especially with that intake. There's that philosophy, as well as the 'work with what you have' one. That, and all of the people staging with you thinking 'Hey, another NPI Mustang kill for me', will be promptly shocked, when you tear them a new one.

I'm not sure if Renagade charges a core or not, you'd have to contact them directly with the Email address I gave you above. Even so, with the way Mustangers are tossing the stock castings in favor of the PI units, you'd probably pick up a second set of NPI heads on Ebay dirt cheap to send them, if you weren't willing to be without your car for the time it would take to have them ported.

As far as cams go......as it sits, with those heads, intake and a P1SC, you'd still make a ton of power with just stock PI cams. Not to mention retain a nice smooth idle. If a lumpy idle is more to your liking, go ahead and drop the $600 on a set, but just keep in mind, that if a blower is still going to be in the future, you might want to have your cams tailored to that. There are blower specific cams and N/A cams to choose from.

The Cobra vs. GT question is a tough debate. Even though they look a lot alike, they're still a very different car. There's no denying that a Cobra of any year is a very sexy ride. You just have to decide which is more important to you. Having a scary fast GT built with the money you've got now that is guaranteed to turn heads and gain the envy and respect of anyone around you when the loud pedal is slammed to the floor, or being one of the few that gets to enjoy driving a limited build car like a Cobra on a daily basis. The DOHC 4.6L is a sweetheart of an engine and the IRS really makes them ride and handle light years ahead of a stock solid axle GT. Not to mention the subtle differences in looks and the little things (Nicer seats, gauges, etc) that come with owning the car. Not to mention, it's newer by a few years than your current GT. But if you burn up the budget on the car, you've got no money left for mods.

Tough decision man....a GT that will kill most cars on the road today, or a Snake.

.....choose wisely. ;)

buy a cougar with a aed blower...don't see many of those around :canada:

you could probably swap your intake for a clean one :p

I had a similar choice about 2 years ago. Should i clean up my ageing vert or just buy a new Cobra...I chose to keep my old vert and custom tailor it to my liking. I'm very happy i did because what i have is different. And everyone thinks these NPI's are all dogs so surprising a few people will add to the fun factor.

Hahahaha, one of those s***boxes on this board is enough. Before you know it, everyone will want one. People will think Stangnet is populated with senior citizens and real estate salesmen before you know it. :D

Ported PI
Lift..............Intake................Exhaust
.100"--------- 64----------------52
.200"---------116----------------94
.300----------162---------------130
.400----------192---------------160
.500----------213---------------178
.600----------217---------------185
You can do better than that with PI heads.

MMR Stage 2's: 227 int 192 exh @ .500
MPH stage 2.5s: 235 int 195 exh @ .500

I would never argue with GB101, (except on matters of impressing girls :nice: ), I just want PI guys to know there are better flowing port jobs out there. :)

That was an average figure taken from 4-different sets of heads ported by different companies that was posted by a member over at tccoa, from where I gathered most of the other information. I'm sure there are better flowing port jobs out there to be had. I just referenced their figures basically to be used as a guideline to show that ported NPI's and ported PI's could flow ever bit as well as one and other. :)

Renegade's heads have been improved, they are now more like 220/200.

Looks a lot like the Bullitt.

That's because the bullitt was designed to be like the SVO intake. They had to move the runners forward on the bullitt (crash requirements), which is why it needs the cobra alt. The bullitt probably flows abit better, but the SVO has room to shorten the runners some, the bullitt does not.

Here are some example numbers of ported SVOs.

Lift..............Intake................Exhaust
.100"--------- 59----------------49
.200"---------123----------------92
.300----------176---------------126
.400----------209---------------148
.450----------224---------------156
.500----------235---------------165
.550----------243---------------167
.600----------246---------------169
.650----------250---------------169

Please note that they were only lightly ported. I've seen ported FRPP's flow 280/200. Also, FRPPs ported or unported, outflow NPI and PIs anywhere above .100" lift, remember that the mid lifts are most important, which is where the SVOs shine.
