thats the basic question. going along with a friend to get his 04 mystichrome dyno tuned on 91 and 117 race gas. the appointment is for 930 in the morning and we were wondering how long it would take because he is gonna be on call that afternoon and if its gonna take more than about 5 hours then i have to drive my car down to LA with his. i dont really want to have to take my car down the 100 miles to LA if i dont have to. he offered to pay for gas but the driving in LA traffic sucks.

ahh ok, they said they are gonna tune the car on 91 and then switch the chip, suck out all the 91, put in 117 and swap to a smaller pulley. so about 2-3 hours sounds right maybe? that would be cool.

When mine was tuned, they got me in right away. However 13 pulls later, (pinging really bad) I picked it up 3 hrs later.

Just depends also on how quick they set it up at drop-off time.

ok, got back from the dyno shop. we got there and we realised we forgot to have a bung installed for the wideband, so we went to a shop called Speedway Mufflers and the guy welded in the bung in under 5 minutes. went back to Swanson Performance and made 2 pulls on the 91 octane with the 3" pulley. first was 519rwhp, second was 531rwhp/493rwtq. then they swapped pullies for a 2.5" and after waiting for a new belt from NAPA we dumped in 10 gallons of C16. we missed the first 2 pulls because we went to grab a burrito, but came back and after changing out the .030" gapped TR6 plugs they did a pull of 581rwhp and 550rwtq. this was the first time me or the owner had ever been to a dyno so we were uber stoked. we left and got lunch at hooters in santa monica then terrorized ricers all the way back to santa barbara. we have videos and still photos plus the dyno chart with the 2 highest pulls that i will post up as soon as i edit them.
