How long to replace a radiator

I have a three hour window this afternoon, and that seems like it should be ample time for replacing the radiator in my 67 with the small block.

Am I missing something or does that sound right?

Sounds like plenty of time if everything is stock. I did the radiator, new hoses, and rebuilt the rad. mounts in 2 hours last week.

Thanks. Yes, it's all stock. I was pretty sure that it was a simple operation, but I didn't want the car immobilized in the garage for a week or two, waiting for me to get back to it.

At this point the only thing I think may be tricky is getting the shroud in the proper position -- but I can live without the shroud in the short term.

Its an hour job.

Add another hour for breaking something, and another hour to fight the 1/2" gnome (the one that waits until you are not looking to steal your 1/2" wrenches and sockets.)

Auto with cooling lines, which certainly added some time.

It's mostly back together now. It took about two hours and would have taken considerably less time if my work area were better organized and better lit. I still need to attach the two radiator hoses, but I'm going to do a fast and nasty flush of the engine with a garden hose and some rags tomorrow morning so that it's not dumping loose rust into the new radiator.

The only other hang up was a bit of shoddy brazing on the threads where the draincock screws in.

I caught the ***%er once...ended up finding the 39 1/2" wrenches he stole....next night he took 40 of them.

1/2 inch gnomes certainly struck during the project, but they were aided by the random metric bolt gremlins.
